"east end words"

Nobody-asked-me,-but..

I live in a small village warmed by ocean waters, surrounded by pristine beaches. As winter's snow approaches so does the Holiday season. With that in mind I think about the Holiday books and movies that delight and entertain every year. Shopping and dining on the East End is magic.

Of course it would not be the Holidays without Bing Crosby and Holiday Inn, I must admit that my love of the Hospitality business and the reason The Mill House Inn exists is deeply rooted in that magical movie. If you are considering a trip to East Hampton for the Holidays it would be our pleasure to help make your visit a very special adventure, please give the Inn a call at 631.324.9766 and one of our Personal Assistants will be happy to assist.

Montauk_adA walk down Main Street in East Hampton is never more special that durring the Holidays. The weekend December 13th through 15th Hugh King and The EH Historical Society Holiday are conducting The Lantern Tour of Main Street  and The Candlelight Tour of Decorated Historic Houses. The EH Chamber of Commerce is hosting The Holiday Tour of Special Places and The Annual Holiday Stroll.

All the shops are open and ready to help you find the best Holiday Gifts. Book Hampton is my favorite bookstore and more, we were treated to the Stony Brook Pipettes Acapella group when shopping a few weeks ago. One of our hidden dining secrets is the The Tavern at The 1770 House! If you are looking for a gift for someone who surfs, fishes or just really likes Montauk check out The East Hampton Star’s Montauk Collection. And of course a Gift Certificate to The Mill House Inn is always a personal favorite!

Shamrock Christmas Tree Farm

Shamrock Christmas Tree Farm

Shout out this week to… Max Weintraub of Cafe Max as he hands off the Toque to his Sous Chef Sami Krasniqi, best of luck Sami. Max you will be missed, enjoy your well deserved retirement.

As Paul Harvey said... "Now for the rest of the story The North Fork is the place to shop for a Christmas Tree, I really like Shamrock Christmas Tree Farm, Antique Sleigh Rides, cut your own tree, beautiful gifts and so many Vineyards. Wine makes a great gift and the selection is grand.

That's all for now…  Enjoy your week, eat good food & drink great wine!

Lagniappe… I really like Anthony Bourdain’s new show on CNN, watching the final segment brought to mind a classic Bourdain tale.  A Chef’s Christmas is found as a bonus chapter in Nasty Bits, even better to listen to Tony read his Christmas tale. The book is Adult rated and hilarious just  like the restaurant business! “Maybe there are Christmas miracles. And maybe there are special angels for chef’s and cooks” AB… I hope so!

BTW… Something you would like to hear about, want a recommendation or a recipe from #Nobody asked me, but! Just drop me a line @gemuller

"Nobody asked me, but"  With my sincere apologies to Jimmy Cannon & Paul Harvey!
